About us
Our mission is to help people understand how their minds work, and - as a result of that understanding - dramatically reduce their struggles and suffering.
Or, as we like to say,
"Understand your mind, live better."
We do this through our writing and teaching. Over the past (almost) 20 years, our free guide to mindfulness and meditation has been shared on the Internet over a million times, and we've published more than 100 articles on related topics.
We released our flagship work, "An owner's guide to the mind," in 2003. We update it often, and it's evolved a lot over the past 16 years. Some people call it a book (or an eBook). Other people call it a course (or a 21-day program).
But, more important than any of that, it's been called "life-changing" by those who implement it.

HISTORY AND EVOLUTION
"The T.A.D. Principle" was released 17 years ago, right after the turn of the millennium. The acronym "T.A.D." (now referred to simply as "tad") stands for:
> thoughts
> actions
> destiny
It included the meditationSHIFT supplement, but "tad" was more of a treatise on how to shape your life by addressing your thoughts and your actions.
Over the years, however, our philosophy and practice evolved.
We realized the self-improvement industry provided strategies to treat the symptoms of unhappiness rather than addressing the cause of unhappiness ("forced" positive thinking is the most prevalent self-help method - and, like most of the others, it simply doesn't work).
We took a different approach - our focus was on addressing the root cause, and providing a lasting solution.
By understanding your mind, the problems it creates in your life, and how to overcome them, you can find (or, more accurately, reveal) happiness, peace, and contentment. You learn to strengthen awareness (cultivate mindfulness), and break the cycle of blindly following the non-stop activity (thoughts, feelings, emotions, urges, et cetera) that your mind produces.
